Looking for a fun date night, a festive evening with friends, or an interesting team building experience with a small group of coworkers? Our Flights and Lights Tour is for you! From December 1 - December 29 you can take this one-of-a-kind experience!
We will pick you up from your Grand Junction or Fruita location in our luxury, hybrid electric van and whisk you away to a downtown Grand Junction winery or brewery. While enjoying a tasting flight of your choice, you will make an ornament out of a wine cork or bottle caps. We provide the materials and you get to be creative and have fun! Then we will drive you through some of Grand Junction’s most festively decorated neighborhoods to gaze at the incredible displays before returning you home. It couldn’t be easier for you to get out and have some fun this holiday season!
So where did the inspiration for this tour come from?
When we lived in Denver, every year we would bundle up on a cold December night and go to the Denver Botanic Gardens for their Blossoms of Light event. Every tree in the gardens was covered in lights. It was especially beautiful after a fresh snowfall, as the colored lights would twinkle under a blanket of snow. Some years we went with friends and enjoyed hot cocoa with Bailey’s Irish Cream to warm up. Other times we would make this a date night, either with dinner beforehand or a drink afterwards or both. We looked forward to this winter tradition every year.
In addition, Sarah has an annual tradition of making holiday ornaments out of wine corks for her friends. While she wouldn’t call herself “crafty”, she can be creative in devising ways to use up all of the wine corks that have accumulated throughout the year.
